#RM shares of how his parents inspired him to follow his dreams 💜🥹
“My father wanted to draw cartoons but at that time in Korea we were really poor an we got nothing. So my grandmother stopped him from what he really wanted to do. and my mother was a teacher and so i think my father had some such craving and ego for somenthing else except studies and jobs and stuff. So he was really quite supportive from what i was trying to do which is music. and my mother she always trying to give me the stability and telling me not to challenge too much, just be in the zone.. and i was like a small like a clock pin going back and forth with my father and mother. So I think I've learned the balance from my parents and they were such great parents to me”

the way namjoon views leaderships tells you everything about the type of person he is. most people would typically associate leadership with “power” and “control” but not namjoon.. namjoon associates leadership with kindness, attentiveness.. doing the “annoying” things himself and it’s not because no one else will but so they don’t have to. he puts others above himself and i will forever admire and look up to this man
the way joon continues to abolish any barrier between an artist & an average consumer by bridging the gap through his words will never not leave me in an awe, they don't make musicians as raw kim namjoon anymore
If not the best then this is probably one of the best interviews of Namjoon bcs he had the chance to talk bout his own life, his interests & most importantly his music. I'm really glad that he decided to be on fashion neurosis.
I think every ARMY should watch it.
i’m endlessly fascinated by the way namjoon’s mind works. the fact that he can go from fashion to human emotion to leadership in a single conversation is exactly why i can listen to him for hours. i genuinely can’t wait for the podcast
This ot7 picture by J-hope reminds when Namjoon described BTS as :
“It’s like the seven of us on a boat, looking in different directions, but going the same way.
this isn’t a very philosophical takeaway but i finished that episode feeling completely overwhelmed by the beauty of his soul. his mind, his awareness, the persistence to be everything he wants to be as a person is just absolutely beautiful and i am so enamored by his mind,,
do you realise how incredibly humble and kind you have to be to say you worked the least on an album you literally have the most credits on? that's what true leadership demands - putting the group before yourself
solos/diets who constantly belittle him can choke on their words
“This was one of the deepest, most honest and happiest interviews that I’ve ever done”
Awww 🥹 thank you so much, Bella Freud for a refreshing and calming interview with Namjoon. The whole thing was truly enjoyable to watch 💜
joon is living proof that a little bit of self-reflection the ability to listen to those with perspectives other than your own and some empathy not only does wonders for your intelligence but also makes you incredibly sexy
Solos claiming their fave should lead BTS miss the point. Leader isn’t a prize.
The group started with Namjoon and grew around him. BTS is here because of his leadership. He wrote, he spoke up, he took the hate. He wasn’t handed the role - he built it over years.
Namjoon naming his parents taking him to the library every weekend as the best thing a parent can do for their kid may have just made this librarian cry happy tears
Every two months someone comes to start this disrespectful outdated discourse of [ if Namjoon wasn't the leader ] , but you will never see them saying
1. If Namjoon decided to choose solo over the group
2. If Namjoon didn't give every big opportunity given to him as a solo to include his band mates
3. If Namjoon didn't carry the weight of 7 people at once in the western market and it media industry
4. If Namjoon didn't hide hate and racist comments towards his brothers and translated into good one not to hurt them
5. If Namjoon didn't spend his days and nights, even in planes, hotel rooms, even in sope while he needs to chill like any young man in his age writing and producing songs
Now rethink of these [ if ] about Namjoon and answer yourself where would BTS be :)
🐨: when they (members) sometimes just tell me that “i know your effort and i’m really happy to have a leader like you” all those stress, they’re gone. so that’s the beauty of being a team.
