Rue was addicted to Jules emotionally just as much as she was addicted to drugs, and Jules deeply enjoyed the feeling of being needed, wanted, and emotionally chased. That’s what made their relationship so dangerous and complicated because both of them were feeding different emotional addictions through each other.

Rue viewed Jules almost like an emotional escape from reality, pain, loneliness, and addiction itself. Jules became this person Rue emotionally depended on for stability, comfort, purpose, and even survival at times.

Meanwhile Jules loved the intensity of being desired that deeply. She liked feeling important, wanted, emotionally powerful, and central in somebody’s life, even if the pressure that came with it eventually became overwhelming for her too.

That’s why their relationship constantly felt unstable. Rue wanted emotional permanence and security from Jules, while Jules often wanted emotional excitement, validation, and freedom at the same time. They loved each other, but they were also emotionally damaging each other without fully realizing it. #euphoria
