Sanctions will not work. A hundred economic doomsdays will not work.

Their primary victims will be ordinary Iranians, a population that has already endured nearly half a century of economic devastation, repression, and isolation.

The regime itself will barely feel the pressure. It has spent decades building the networks, backchannels, intermediaries, and mechanisms necessary to circumvent sanctions and insulate those at the top from their consequences.

And if the strategy is to deliberately inflict such unbearable economic misery on the Iranian people that desperation eventually forces them into the streets, then fuck you. Iranians have suffered enough.

If you genuinely want this regime gone, and if regime change is genuinely the objective, then pursue a political strategy designed to replace it: recognize a government in exile headed by Reza Pahlavi and provide Iranians with a credible alternative to the Islamic Republic.
