New ADB research shows that the conflict in the Middle East could reduce GDP in developing Asia and the Pacific by up to 1.3 percentage points over 2026–2027 and raise inflation by 3.2 percentage points if it extends beyond a year.
Our brief outlines three risk scenarios, with impacts depending largely on the length of the conflict.

@beastieboy07@StuartBroad8 Broad on comms has been a revelation. Insightful, articulate, balanced and always interesting. And I say that as an Australian. Pleased to hear he’ll be commentating the Ashes. He and Punter are the perfect pairing.
@DScottRacing Yep. This owner is very happy. Wish I could have been there. But I believe 2e and the crew made up for the rest of us. Congrats Donna, Blaike and team.
@Gampa_cricket Absolutely agree with this take. He had a role to play. He played it. But, by golly, the courage to play that risky game. Never seen anything like it in 50 years of watching tests.
"'We always say that children will inherit the world but what kind of world are they going to inherit if it’s going up in ashes?' said Joy Reyes, a climate justice lawyer from the Philippines."

@GeoffLemonSport Agree, Geoff. But it is nevertheless a test case for a grey area in our anti discrimination laws and codes of conduct in sport. It will begin a long overdue conversation about these grey areas. That is a plus, in my book. The minus is that Sam Kerr will pay a price.
@TraceyLeeHolmes@ConversationEDU@ChelseaFCW Absolutely agree with that last sentence and appreciate your coverage of these issues. It’s a fascinating case study of an issue (and legislation) that has never really been tested before, certainly not for such a high profile case.
@DalrympleWill@EmpirePodUK@GoalhangerPods@TheRestHistory I began listening a month ago, from the start, and am almost through season 2. Splendid. My next visit to Turkeye, in June, will be the first time I walk through those ancient cities and streets with my eyes wide open and ears tuned to the whispers of ghosts past.
