4-3 @CBAColtsLax after 1. Danny Varone and Turner Cooke scored a goal a piece within the last 10 seconds of the first quarter to put the Colts ahead, their only time ahead in the entire quarter. CBA has had some uncharacteristic turnovers that has lead to some great chances for the Hornets which they’ve done a great job of capitalizing on. CBA has been able to stay in this game due to the domination on faceoffs, as it was 8-0 in the first in the Colts favor. Jackson Chaney and Christian Fox also found the back of the net for the Colts, while Finn Buchan, David Perrotti, and James Esposito found the back of the net for @HolmdelLax. Jack Tiller with a few great saves in net as well for the Hornets. @JSSInsider
7-6 @HolmdelLax here at the half. So impressed with the physicality, rally, and fight here from Holmdel against such a talented CBA team. Although CBA continues to dominate possession and faceoffs due to @NovaLacrosse commit John Little, the Hornets continue to be lethal around the net offensively, taking advantage of CBA’s unforced turnovers which has carried on from the first quarter. @DartmouthFTBL commit Jack and senior midfielder Cannon with a monster quarter for the Hornets, recording two goals and an assist, leading the team with 4 points on the day. Junior attacker Joey Marino also found the back of the net, while junior attacker James Esposito found the back of the net for the second time as well. Sophomore midfielder Danny Varone found the back of the net for his second of the game for the Colts, while senior attacker Caden Lucich netted his first as well.

8-7 @HolmdelLax here after 3. One of the best games I’ve watched all season. Holmdel’s zone defense and physicality has really given CBA trouble. CBA has had more chances than the Hornets, but senior goalie Jack Tiller and the Hornets back line have done everything in their power to keep the Colts loaded attack in check. James Esposito with the lone goal for the Hornets to secure his hat trick, while sophomore attacker Anthony Lembo found the back of the net for the first time for the Colts. Ladies and gents, we’ve got a thriller on our hands and the Colts in upset watch.

History for the Hornets. @HolmdelLax takes down @CBAColtsLax for the first time in program history 9-8. A phenomenal effort from Brendan Quinn’s group, finding a way to beat CBA despite being down on possession and faceoffs. Senior defender Marcus Cermele and senior goalie Jack Tiller were tremendous on the defensive end, as Tiller made 18 saves on only 8 goals allowed, with 6 in the last 3 minutes with the game on the line. David Perrotti found the back of the net for his second of the game in the fourth, while Anthony Lembo netted his second for the lone goal of the 4th for the Colts. There’s no team that wants to see the Hornets right now, fresh off of wins against Manasquan, and now #1 ranked CBA, both firsts in program history.

Jack Cannon is back, and with him in the fold, @HolmdelLax is a different team.
In taking down the defending champs on Wednesday, the Hornets sent a message to the rest of Group 2: this is a squad that can make some serious noise. @HolmdelHornets
