Who can vote in municipal elections?
✅️ non-resident property owners
❌️ tax-paying permanent residents
Not totally sure who the municipal government is supposed to represent...
.@VancouverPD tomorrow will release a report it commissioned into spending on city's social safety net - a summary of which leaked this week.
I've read both now, and let me summarize them for you: Misleading fiction.

Think 🇨🇦 is boring? Let’s talk about Project Sidewinder.
It’s a leaked 90s intelligence report from a CSIS-RCMP task force.
It claims organized crime, spies, billionaires, & corrupt politicians work together in 🇨🇦.
It’s some of the wildest stuff you’ll ever hear.

Recently I learned about a man who has trained 1,000+ people to block wind and solar projects.
I read through all his training materials, presentations, and seminars.
Here's what I learned about him and how his students plan to "win the war on clean energy."

A wild ending to Port Moody's election: incumbent councillor @amy_lubik lost the 6th and final slot for council by two votes on election night, but after a partial judicial recount, was tied for the final space — and then won after her name was picked out of a container
So... here's something that I find weird about the NDP.
David Eby has zero ties to organized labour. He hasn't held a union card, or organized a workplace. The BCFED had to take him on a tour of Unionized workplaces for photoshoots to Unionwash him.
Sorry to ruin your Monday morning but seems BC’s Environmental Assessment Office exists in a parallel universe where climate & energy facts don’t matter: B.C. Maintains New LNG Project Will Cut Global Emissions #ClimateCrisis#LNG#bcpoli via @theenergymix https://t.co/hPZMWivsvY

I'm looking for photos of dead salmon unable to get upriver to spawn, or rivers in drought from this year.
Any connections to folks with photos we can use in a report highlighting the climate emergency? We can offer a small honorarium.
Remember how @Dave_Eby tried to pretend he had nothing to do /smears against @AnjaliApp
He was behind the whole damn thing.

I wonder what BC NDP bylaws say about conflict of interest. In a 15 minute google, I flagged 17/39 execs with potential conflict of interests in the Anjali DQ vote.
Eg.
-Declared support for a candidate
-Work for a group/person who endorsed a candidate
Caveats to follow...
So CUPE can endorse Eby, be a 3rd party advertiser, have members working on his campaign, AND have a seat on the councils that voted to disqualify his opponent?
Because @dogwoodbc wasn't 'sufficiently independent'?
Sure, that seems fair.
