I’m deeply saddened by the forced shutdown of #AppleDailyHK. But despite this setback, I want to tell the people of #HongKong that #Taiwan will always stand with you in your struggle for freedom. Your dreams of democracy are the seeds of a better future for Hong Kong & the world.
As #HongKong becomes a Police State the U.K. must speak up for democracy against dictatorship, says @hk_watch Patron @DavidAltonHL https://t.co/Lb5FLs5PIM
Chair @RepGregoryMeeks: Beijing’s national security law is being used to ruthlessly attack Hong Kongers—last week by sentencing democracy activists, this week by arresting dozens of pro-democracy politicians for participating in last year’s LegCo primaries

The sweeping arrests of pro-democracy demonstrators are an assault on those bravely advocating for universal rights. The Biden-Harris administration will stand with the people of Hong Kong and against Beijing’s crackdown on democracy. https://t.co/nSj8dr3OEg
After the pregnant lady was escorted to the ambulance, a bunch of #HKPolice stormed to D3 of #Mongkok#MTR station. They tried to separate a couple who were about to enter the subway station. #Police teared the lady's shirt apart & exposed her body.

First, they push a pregnant woman to the ground
Then they assault & arrest her husband
And pepperspray journalists
Friends, these are not police. They are gangsters, thugs, criminals who do not deserve the uniform they wear.
We need full-on #Magnitsky sanctions

Takes a particular sort of scum to brutalise a pregnant woman.
Since July last 2019, the @hkpoliceforce have shown again and again that pregnancy is no defence against their disproportionate brutalising of democracy campaigners.
Really hope she is ok.
More horrifying video emerging on Telegram of the pregnant woman who was pushed to the ground by the HK Police in Mong Kok tonight. The man in black trying to protect her is her husband. Excruciating just to watch.
