Earthy Echoes 🌎🌼🪵 My vision last year was to be a facilitator at this years #peeleyc I am so grateful to be given a space where I can share my knowledge about Nature as Universal Design & Inclusion of Abilities amongst other educators
Spending time with puddle sparked our curiosity and imagination ‘I am fishing, I made a car that drives in the water, I’m gonna see if the leaf will float or sink’
“Each heart represents the memory of a child lost to the residential
school system, and the act of planting represents that individual’s commitment to finding their
place in reconciliation.” 🧡 @FloradalePS#orangeshirtday#truthandreconciliation

In Ojibwe our word for moccasin is maaksin (pronounced maak-sin). Also translates to shoe or footwear. @KyrieIrving rocking his maaksinan during @nba playoffs. Music by Eyabay.
On National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women we remember all of our stolen women, girls, 2-Spirit, and LGBTQIA+ relatives. The @peelschools#COY students at Maawnjiding Wiingushkeng created this #RedDress display to raise awareness.
We can learn about relationships & create a collaborative piece that reflects heart-work 🌼🐞 Falcons created plant relatives & pollinator friends out of paper clay ‘I’m humming to Black Eyed Susan, I’m singing her Nibi’s song’ We will add these plants in our garden next! 🪴🐜
We can engage with learning from nature in any space 🌿 We were amazed by the gifts we found by the front doors! ‘This is a rare rock!’ ‘An egg! This one is white and👀 another one! I think they came from 2 different birds’ ‘These rocks are all the same, maybe it’s a family’ 🥚🪨
Happy Earth Day! 🌎
Today, we hope you take some time outside to learn, play, explore, reflect, or rest.
Here are just a small handful of the many benefits found after being immersed in the outdoors.
What's your favourite side effect of stepping beyond four walls?
Sharing my learning about Mother Earth from Hopi & Josh inspired 4B to make Elderbeary cards to gift to them 🐻 (bracelets going to a Friendship Center) Giving gratitude for all the learning over the past 3 sessions of Listening to the Heartbeat of Doodoom Aki 🙏🏾🤎
After a long weekend this Falcon missed Cedar & greeted them first thing this morning ☺️ Cedar has given this Falcon a sensory rich experience through touch, sight & especially smell - they even expressed how ‘calm’ they feel after interacting
These Falcons enjoyed celebrating Phagwah (Holi) with each other ☺️ Ss shared their own traditions, those that were sacred & those that can be participated in with respect 🩵🩷💚❤️💙💛💜🧡 We joined in the coming of spring by sending wishes with gulaal
