LOOK: The Philippines-Palestine Friendship Association (PPFA) and progressive groups led a protest march on Kalaw Avenue in Manila to mark the third-year commemoration of the Al-Aqsa Flood on Wednesday, Oct. 7.

The Al-Aqsa Flood refers to the coordinated attacks on Oct. 7, 2023, carried out by Hamas and several Palestinian militant groups on the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah.

The groups said the attacks were built on decades of oppression from illegal occupation and settler colonialism by the Zionist state of Israel.

"The Palestinian resistance teaches us life. A life that is fought for, a life of freedom and dignity. It inspires all people struggling for national and social liberation, and therefore, we must support their resistance as if it were our own," the PPFA said in a social media post. | @nashvillena_

ISRAELI AMBASSADOR VISITS NAGA, MEETS MAYOR ROBREDO

LOOK: Israeli Ambassador Dana Kursh visited Naga City on Monday, meeting with Mayor Leni Robredo and touring key cultural sites, including the Museo ni Jesse Robredo and Huna Huna Art Space.

Ambassador Kush's visit comes as Israel remains under international scrutiny over the ongoing war in Gaza and tensions across the Middle East. The Philippines, however, continues to maintain diplomatic ties with Israel, a longtime partner in agriculture, technology, security, and labor cooperation.

#BREAKING | Brazil's presidential race will head to a runoff between far-right Senator Flávio Bolsonaro and progressive incumbent Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, scheduled for October 25.

Bolsonaro came out in first place with 47% of the votes and Lula with 45%, a difference of over 2 million votes. Bolsonaro's Liberal Party (PL) also appears to have made significant congressional and gubernatorial gains in those races.

Now, the candidates will have three weeks to ramp up their campaigns before the second round.
