A total of 31 sealed black pallets were recovered. Further scrutiny established that three of the pallets contained 156 bundles of US$100 notes suspected to be counterfeit, while the remaining pallets contained cement.
Detectives also recovered a plastic box containing 65 pieces of gold bars suspected to be fake; a box containing assorted chemicals suspected to be intended for the manufacture of counterfeit currency; and another box containing assorted papers printed with US dollar notes.
Other exhibits recovered included a black bag containing 13 bundles of US$100 notes suspected to be counterfeit, assorted aluminium seals, seven cartons of UN blue plastic seals, two Kenya Revenue Authority reflector jackets, two empty suitcases, a green pallet-strapping roll, a padlock cutter and a hacksaw.
The scene was processed and the exhibits secured as investigations continue to establish the circumstances surrounding the suspected counterfeit currency operation and the identities and respective roles of those involved.

I have never been one to make a great fuss about my own birthday. Today, as I turn 61, what I feel most is gratitude.
There is something about this year, 2026, about all we have been through, the love we have shared and the losses we have felt, that makes the gift of another birthday especially precious. These moments remind us how much it matters to have people to share our lives with.
I am grateful for life. For my family, my friends and the people who quietly hold me up. For the privilege of serving this country I love. For all of you whose encouragement gives me strength, especially on the difficult days. I could not do this without you.
To everyone whose well wishes have reached me so early this morning, and everyone who will reach out throughout the day, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I feel the love, and I do not take a moment of it for granted.
Thank you for continuing to walk with me as the years go by, and as I give of my best in service to Barbados and our people.
I am going to try to enjoy today. I am still going to work, though! 😊
That’s called a rigid pavement
Since then, many other sections have rigid pavements eg on A104 at Zambezi, A109 at Mikindani and the steep ascent between Mai Mahiu and A8 using the Kijabe route
Clearly, this is beyond you. They brought it out in court and we decided not to work that way. There is no privilege on what is in open court and affidavit and also spoken word hapo hapo..... wacha kujipendekeza
The in duplum rule exists for a simple reason: a Kenyan should not be buried in endless interests and other hidden rates that should not exceed the principal.
Take the case of a boda boda rider who takes out a KSh180,000 loan to buy a motorcycle and ends up paying KSh500,000. Or a person who buys a phone on hire purchase and misses a single payment, and as a result, the phone gets locked.
This is why I sponsored the Business Laws (Amendment) Act, bringing non-deposit-taking credit businesses, including Buy Now, Pay Later arrangements, under the Central Bank of Kenya’s regulatory framework.
And the in duplum rule under Section 44A of the Banking Act is simple. It is meant to protect borrowers from the accumulation of interest on bad loans forever.
We have strengthened the law. Now we must ensure it is enforced.

Today, October 1, 2026, another Ukrainian defender fell in combat.
Flying a MiG-29 fighter jet, he carried out missile and bomb strikes against Russian occupiers along one of the front-line directions.
During the mission, his aircraft was hit by an enemy missile. The pilot ejected, but tragically did not survive.
Captain Marat Redvanovych Mambetov was a flight commander in the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade "Ghost of Kyiv."
We extend our deepest condolences to Marat's family and loved ones. He defended Ukraine until his very last breath.

Who takes the bragging rights?
A German Shepherd reportedly helped catch a suspected phone snatcher in Kileleshwa after a motorbike rider allegedly grabbed a Chinese man's phone and tried to escape.
The dog, which was being walked by another man nearby, reportedly went after the suspected thief and helped stop his getaway.
Fellow boda boda riders then resorted to destroying the suspect’s motorbike.
🚨If the DJ at Nyayo Stadium can’t even buy Harambee Stars merchandise when the jerseys are available across East West fashion stores, then maybe he should stick to deejaying in clubs where they spend the night watching Manchester United. 😂

What an honour to make history in Nagoya; becoming the first athlete to win the 5,000m, 10,000m and 3,000m steeplechase at a single Asian Games. 🥇🥇🥇
These three gold medals would not have been possible without the incredible team around me. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey, and congratulations to all the competitors.
🦋 Keep moving.
