Shout out to this fine specimen of Climactichnites, fossil tracks of a mollusc, first discovered by Perth Ontario’s Dr.James Wilson, physician and amateur geologist, friend and advisor to William Logan on the minerals to be found in the Ottawa region. @perthmuseum

In light of current COVID-19 measures, the Perth Museum and Visitor Information Centre will be closed for the month of January.

We have a small #MammothCheese exhibit in the Visitor Information Centre and we reopen our doors by appointment on Thursday! And/or, check out the life size replica at the Tay Basin. #perthproud

This 22,000-pound #MammothCheese from @PerthOntarioCan was designed to promote Canadian cheese at the Chicago World's Fair in 1893. Most of the original cheese was eaten (of course), but a small slice is preserved at @perthmuseum.
