Berlin is known for wasting money in projects that standout by their incompetence, but the new #BER airport is something of an outlier. Avoid flying in or out of Berlin. Avoid moving here if you need to fly anywhere. Check the ratings out there from travelers. 2/2
#BER airport is the worst possible thing you can imagine. 2 and a half hours to receive a luggage. Would be stuck inside the airplane for 2+ hours if not for the crew and bus conductors. Taxpayer money is being burned in this worthless public enterprise. 1/2
I will be available for people interested in the @AirbusSpace challenges 5 and 6 of the #ActInSpace2022#hackathon. Although UP42 is not part of the official sponsor list I can jump start you in using it for the challenges.
If you are working on image processing and are looking for new challenges. Look at what #remotesensing brings. If you work in remote sensing, then looking at the image processing issues is a must IMHO. Just scratching the surface (t)here.
Our latest #devops blog dives into processing #satellite imagery with Orfeo ToolBox. Learn how to use pansharpening, rescaling and gamma correction to enhance your image for ✨maximum clarity✨ https://t.co/kYiBGLnvnx #remotesensing
Satellite images are hard to deal with from an image processing standpoint. In this article I scratch the surface of the subject.

Makes use of the great @orfeotoolbox from @CNES
Blog post https://t.co/XIgRbIB8Ln +jupyter notebook https://t.co/j6vsKrf1H1 on selecting stereo and tri-stereo images from the Airbus archive on @UP42_ . #python functional programming fans are bound to like it: map + filter + iterators FTW 😸
A new article on using @UP42_ webhooks. This time using #OpenResty, #nginx and #lualang. It relies on @ngrokHQ and @pipedream to handle the "forwarding" of the requests to a local machine. https://t.co/RuU9A26AEt
One thing is clear. I won't be ordering anything from a company using #Dachser as their #logistics operator. It adds an all new meaning to the word incompetence. @dachser_news
I have only seen a couple of instances of #logistics companies that are as incompetent as Dachser Iberia. Parcel has been sitting in the warehouse for a week. Wrong address in their system. Twice asked for an update, while providing the right address. No changes. @dachser_news
We can see that @Apple is a company that really cares about resource depletion and the planet when it provides more than 10GB bloatware (xcode) just to have a command line that works minimally. It goes hand in hand with overpriced HW built by slave workers in Asia. #greenwashing
Is beyond me how people think macOS is a somewhat of a decent developer environment. Besides de 90s look & feel of the UI (NeXTStep), xcode takes #bloatware to new heights. It fits at least 5 full Debian desktop installs inside.
The slides for my #juliacon2022 poster session "Remote Sensing in Julia: an absolute beginners perspective" are here: https://t.co/AACviLU2uX. I suppose videos from yesterday's evening sessions should be made available soon. Right? @JuliaConOrg Thank you.
@wrathofgnon I think that there is currently a very real practice of turning what was a car laden city, or parts of it, into "theme parks" for wealthy urbanites and tourists. At the root of both is the same misunderstanding of how cities evolve(d) IMHO. Mechanistic thinking through & through.
The great attention devoted by @nestrangeiro_pt to the portuguese abroad. Trying to get an email or a phone call to be answered by the Portuguese consulate in Berlin is task that not even Hercules could muster. Service has degraded severely with online booking of appointments.
Remote sensing can have a huge impact in the way cities evolve. With all the developments around new urbanism and liveable cities it can bring the quantitative element to bear on decisions. Beyond politics & personal opinions. Also business many opportunities. #CopernicusMasters
If #innovation without collaboration is just an idea, it takes more than just funds for a #startup to take off. It takes a village. That's why we joined the #Copernicus Masters Challenge with @AirbusSpace to help #devops with small resources and 1 big idea https://t.co/yTUO4WViBC
💡Want to use our new webhooks without having to run a server on your own? In this first article in a series of 2, we will use a hosted service, Pipedream, to run Python code snippets that handle the incoming requests via UP42 webhooks https://t.co/3czUp6k7sK #devops#geospatial
Following up on the previous tweet on the @UP42 @CopernicusEMC challenge here are the slides from my extremely short presentation on urbanism. https://t.co/VWQ78t1tZs #CopernicusMasters
