CNN source: Americans arrived in Laikipia Airbase yesterday as plans for US Ebola isolation facility go ahead despite court order.
Current US & Kenya governments - both Trump & Ruto administrations - have a history of ignoring court rulings they don't like
"The most haunting truth of femicide is that every stolen life represents a silenced narrative; a story cut short, destined to be told by everyone except the woman who lived it."
She had a voice, dreams, and plans for tomorrow. A life entirely her own.
Now her story belongs to a police report, a news headline, a social media post. Everyone speaks for her except her.
We march today carrying their names because they can no longer carry them, and so that no more names are added to this list.
Stop killing us!

“Today, we join the women, girls and children of Kenya to condemn the continued rise in the killings of women and disappearance of children. The statistics are grim. According to Odipodev, 3 women are killed every day and on average, Government of Kenya statistics show that 1 child goes missing per hour. These are not a series of isolated incidents. The trends point to a national security crisis and concern. These figures further illustrate a profound failure of protection. We are calling on the Government of Kenya to immediately declare femicide and the disappearance of children a National security concern and commit the resources, leadership and urgency required to end this crisis. The country has had enough reports, enough taskforces and enough promises. What is needed now is action. Every delayed response costs lives. The safety of women and children is not a special interest issue; it is a national security priority and a measure of whether our country truly values human life, dignity and justice. As we mark Madaraka Day today, let us remember that our freedom cannot be complete until all the women, girls and children of these country are free from violence in all its forms and manifestations”.
— George Morara, Executive Director, Amnesty International Kenya
Since 2016, 1069 women have been killed, with at least 842 being femicide cases. 69+ deaths have already been recorded this year alone.
Is this proof that the country has let the killing of women and girls become normal?
Africa Uncensored, @Africa_DataHub and @OdipoDev have spent three years building Kenya's most comprehensive public record of femicide, because despite growing awareness, media attention, and legal intervention, the data does not show resolution it shows continuity.
As civil societies and Kenyans continue to advocate for the government to declare femicide & disappearance and murder of children as a national emergency with immediate, resourced and accountable action; the journalism that underpins this advocacy is publicly accessible and updated annually.

Today is Madaraka day! The American Ebola facilities are being/have been set up despite a court order halting the process! We therefore have no reason to celebrate madaraka because NOT YET MADARAKA for sure!!
Absolutely immense season. Champions of England. Didnt lose a single UCL game in full time. Rivals waited until the last kick of the season.
Never been a better time to support Arsenal. He is staying. He is hungry. He will fix the roof while the sun is shining.
