If a service runs in the cloud and no one is around to use it, does it cost any money? Sadly yes, but here's a short story about making that a lot cheaper #DEVCommunity https://t.co/unlxQBRKlS
@itsdouges Render prop API all day. Especially in a system where prop names are consistent. It's not "extra" API, it's exactly what's needed for a tooltip. As you've shown other options are too limiting, indicates missing API.
@PKodmad Ah no! Big loss for Atlassian and Jira. I really enjoyed working with you and good on ya for making a change. Enjoy the time off. I'll be following along whatever your next step is!
@spudiscool Yep you're right. You may find that passing in options directly adds a lot of args to useFetch that make it awkward to call. Have a muck with around though!
@spudiscool A better solution is to make sure the options reference doesn't change between renders in the useFetch hook. Something like: https://t.co/EY9P2LCXJj
@spudiscool Hey Des! I had a quick look and I think it's because you are passing in a new object into useFetch every render? Try pulling out { method: "GET" } into a constant variable

Gave a presentation to internal Atlassian engineering teams on the importance of โproduct engineersโ (something I learnt from @jmwind) & how critical they are to the success of product teams. Hope itโs useful to the product community. https://t.co/j7GJfCkd1D #prodmgmt#isohair
When building things for other developers, realise you're not the star of the show. You are supporting them. Give them the tools to do precisely what they want.
You are asking others to compose building blocks to solve their use-cases. You need to help them do this with docs. Examples ready to be copy pasted are best.
Sharing some learnings from migrating our Design System from Flow to TypeScript. Incase you're planning to do something similar ๐
