@spiccarella@BurialMagazine Nobody ever said pure “quality.” And I’d argue part of the reason he is so well known for his nonfic is because it is that good. I love his fiction, and prefer IJ, Oblivion, and TPK over everything, but much of his fiction is flawed, including Broom. Supposedly is bulletproof.
@spiccarella@BurialMagazine I took the op to be an overall and objective ranking of his books. Doesn’t matter what we think personally, his nonfiction is a major aspect of his legacy. Supposedly represents that the best.
@spiccarella@BurialMagazine If we’re trying to be objective, I think Supposedly has to be there. It’s too important to his social significance/historical importance.
@orc_mode Oh, it’s beautiful for sure. Maybe the best Moby-Dick edition to read. But that copy is not in great shape and it doesn’t even have the dust jacket!
"Kohler, too, has dreams: dreams of freedom, of running away from his colleagues, his family, anyone who’s in any way different from himself. And his dreams...are equally unattainable."

@TLiterarian I’m the complete opposite. I go out of my way to only have hardcover. This is from a collector perspective but also the tactile aesthetics of a hardcover are vastly superior to a paperback.
@ClaudiuDP@tekbog I thought you were joking at first because obviously Nolan is obsessed with nonlinear time and The Odyssey itself - as told by Homer - is nonlinear. Nolan’s Odyssey will almost certainly be nonlinear. It’s probably part of what interested him in the project.
