For interval training:
Most people go too hard on interval #1 and then aren't able to go hard enough on interval #6.
If you are slowing down dramatically during interval training, you are practicing falling apart.
For most, that should not be the goal.
Learn how to pace.

Once upon a time there was a runner called P. P was very good. She ran very fast in training and everyone liked her for it. P was getting better and even winning races.
P trained even harder and faster in order to improve. In the early weeks this worked.

A coach can only do so much to help an athlete improve. Ultimately, the success of an athlete comes down to their inner drive. Once they become intrinsically motivated, they can get the most out of their coach and reach their full potential.
