@Jenny_n_newman@JJAllen12@tmmisson@VicGovDH Why would you mass order an untrialed vaccine made with never before used technology, requires impractical storage of -80C and cannot be produced in house? On paper AZ looked the superior choice.
Hence they waited for the results.
@Jenny_n_newman@JJAllen12@tmmisson@VicGovDH It was about as big as the outbreak in VIC atm… Thats precisely why VIC is getting priority access now. How many cases did VIC have in March? I think you’ve just answered ur own question
@saremc1973@SuperCoachIQ@VicGovDH Total cases yes. Victoria is reporting active cases here. If you wanna compare those we are comparing NSW with ~12k and VIC ~9k.
@JohnTaylor1001@PurpleTarantula@covidbaseau@VicGovDH I suspect everyone just looking for a scapegoat. NSW blamed the limousine driver, VIC blaming the NSW government. It’s often easier to play the blame someone else than accept responsibility.
@JohnTaylor1001@PurpleTarantula@covidbaseau@VicGovDH But this is exactly the strategy VIC deployed. And we can see it’s fruits in front of us in today’s numbers.
They would’ve been in the exact same position.
@JohnTaylor1001@PurpleTarantula@covidbaseau@VicGovDH These are very difficult decisions to make. You need to balance the Heath risk vs the risk to people’s mental well-being. I think this is what the Victorian government is now realising.
Going hard and going early would not have made a difference here.
