How does a weekend in England cost £700 when you can fly abroad for less?

A return train to London is £160.

In the next month or two, social media companies will start collating ID (passports, facial recognition, credit cards? etc) for ALL users, ahead of the social media ban for adolescents starting early next year. Although for the record, it isn’t entirely clear exactly how they will go about this, given its unprecedented nature. It’s not just X, Facebook etc either, it is in fact any website or app that allows comments, chat or interaction with other users in general.

The Labour government are pushing on with this despite the Australian ban being widely considered nothing short of a disaster in its efficacy and implementation, never mind its morality and precedence for the future (including but not limited to Digital ID infrastructure). Indeed the UK are already off to a bad start, with thee out of four of the UK data collection companies responsible for ID collection having had data breaches, resulting in people’s documents and data being sold or released by bad actors on the dark web. As mentioned the government are implementing this regardless and Keir Starmer was even quoted in the last day or so, saying (not word for word here); “The effectiveness of a law shouldn’t stop it going through”! 😳 let that sink in for a moment!

This censorship issue is yet another tool of global leftist ideology (authoritarianism and Marxist ideals, over individual autonomy) being implemented into reality by a rules based, civic duty by the law, authoritarian Labour government. If you ever caught yourself wondering recently, why so many decisions made by this Labour Party seem to make no sense or make you question reality, it is because of that very fact; Ideology does not play well with common sense and the day to day life in an open, democratic society.

Having been on this platform for over 13 years and yet, having a fairly strong sense of morals and being rather principled, as you well may be, I’m left with a dilemma in the weeks ahead.
