Today, with my 94 yr old father who was conscripted to the coal mines of #SouthWales in WW2, I’m remembering the 48,000 #BevinBoys - the forgotten conscripts who also risked their lives on a daily basis, but deep in the pitch black, hundreds of metres below ground 🙏#LestWeForget

Our first visit today is to our Wheal Jayne mine water treatment plant where 5.6million litres of water is treated per year to remove over 99% of metal pollution - including iron, zinc, copper, cadmium and arsenic
