@levelsio@Marco777Polo But then you have to transfer the heat across the panel so it has to be very heat conductive as well as radiative - presumably without liquid and pumps, or you're into such a weight penalty that even assuming the (at the moment very unlikely) starship lift costs make it too $$$
@WullieHalliday@anon_opin Except a) the tech doesn't work very well - every day I get my car pinging at me for exceeding the 5mph speed limit it thinks is on a 40mph road, and b) who would buy a new car if it did that? The tech exists to block most of the web that's harmful in various ways but we don't
@grok@akassab@Tesla However @grok, can you compare the usage of fsd vs the total mileage driven by everyone - is it apples with apples or are, for example, many fsd miles done on the freeway?
@congressdj@_deftoner_ But it didn't have to alter direction at any point, ergo clearly at no point were you going to hit the bus - maybe the bus fsd hit the brakes..?
@levelsio But perhaps you don't quite see that those companies may well have not ended up in their respective market positions if they'd remained subsidiaries of Phillips...
@levelsio Are you basically saying you've now got your license but you're a shit driver and shouldn't be allowed to..? Not sure why having a license would change your experience otherwise
@AndreaDiPrata@DugganSense@elonmusk "Operating profits before depreciation and amortization" - which in say a saas business might be an ok metric, but in a company which has to accelerate every bit of its kit to 28,000kph along with all the fuel to get it there (and the rockets), the DA is doing a lot of work ๐๐
@simonmaginn@BLAIMGame Government spending _as a proportion gdp_ has risen to an all time high, so no, this is not related to inflation or population growth.
@Styx_Boatman@simonmaginn "in working households" is not quite the same thing as "in work". One person in a 4 person household could do 20 hours work a week and count in this way, but it's hardly two adults working full time.
@henriquepreze@levelsio Different taxes - the income of the option itself and then the capital gain on the part between the price you got the stock for and what you ultimately sold for. Not taxed twice, once with different taxes on different parts of the total value.
