So it’s actually been a month, and …this is my first time back. I missed this app less than I thought I would.
The only thing I wish Threads had is better real-time trends/topics. But it’s also the thing I probably need less of in my life, so there’s that.
I won’t quantify it with unhelpful, combative terms, but… this platform has slowly become more deprived of the content I care about (news, thought leadership, etc) and full of content I don’t (ads, spam, bots, memes, rage).
I don't ask for much, but if ever @VOCES8 or @EricWhitacre Singers would record this, I would die happy. Can we make this happen? Who do I need to talk to? 😂
Salt Lake Vocal Artists beautifully perform my piece "Thy Will Be Done" (the Lord's Prayer). Get some good headphones and turn the volume way up. https://t.co/EEuhDh3pB5
@eolsencreative All the wood was scrap in the basement, so no cost there, really. Probably spent 8 hours on it, so there’s time I could have saved by clicking “buy.” 😂
Don't get me wrong. Tenacity, intelligence, track-record, competence, skills, platform, even rhetorical skills, etc. are all important, too!
But without basic morals, it's just a two-legged stool.
"We're not voting for a pastor..."
Christian, stop saying this.👆
The argument is ridiculous on its face. We (of all people) KNOW that a lack of moral character in our leaders is inexcusable and WILL have disastrous effects on those under them.
Consider ...
Politics is hard. But, as a Christian, choosing which leaders to defend isn't.
If they aren't moral (or can't tell the truth!), we have no obligation to tether ourselves to them. Instead, embrace your true citizenship, which is in heaven. (Phil. 3:20) There is a higher throne.
More like this, please. Who else out there is writing and speaking truth about the current political culture in the church? So much of the modern-day Christian social conservative movement seems so... slimy... to me. Not to mention antithetical to the gospel.
