Enjoy a new @NewBooksNetwork episode featuring historian Timothy Kneeland on his thought-provoking book Declaring Disaster. It is a revealing look at how politics and policy shape our response to catastrophe. Great conversation with a brilliant scholar.

It was an honor to do this interview. ‘Richard Buttny, "Unfracked: The Struggle to Ban Fracking in New York" (U Massachusetts Press, 2024)’ by @NewBooksNetwork in Environmental Studies https://t.co/YjBOA4eMcZ
@cmcbrooks312@CBSEveningNews Spending summers at Lake Hopatcong sounds awesome! The military has always been a site of intrigue there. In 1940 when there was an explosion (killed 52) at Hercules Powder Factory, Congressman Martin Dies, who headed the House Un-American Activities, felt it was caused by Nazis.
@NBSaphierMD Crazy video. Not sure what to make of all this, but I’m fascinated. Really feel they’re related to Picatinny Arsenal. Can’t imagine unknown drones being allowed to fly around that airspace.
I appreciate Hopatcong Mayor Galate for mentioning my book.
Here's a brief look at the remarkable work she's doing:
-Tackling environmental challenges
-Supporting community organizations
-Securing federal funding
-Improving infrastructure
And more!

Interesting bit of history…but
“Lake Hopatcong turns out to be in sort of central New Jersey, not far from Morristown.” 🤔
