Fast forward to today, BTS is making a similar argument about not wanting music judged by region or language, and the world is applauding them.
The message didn’t change only the people saying it did. Wizkid was ahead of the conversation. An artist should be judged by the music, not caged by geography, language, or race. If the same words deserve applause today, they deserved support when Wizkid said them in 2022.
