Shocking statement: Russia’s top communist turns against Putin

Communist Party of the Russian Federation leader Gennady Zyuganov said that Russia will ultimately lose if the current political course is maintained and the war continues.

At a briefing following the State Duma elections, he called for a “left-centrist turn” and a transition to a policy of “justice, friendship, and socialism.”

Zyuganov criticized the Kremlin’s economic policy and also spoke about rising prices and the country’s technological lag.

According to him, the global economy is growing by 3–4% a year, while Russia has already been showing growth of around 1% for 15 years.

According to Zyuganov, over the years of the war, the number of Russian oligarchs grew from 105 to 155, while their combined assets reached $700 billion. He accused big business of being unwilling to pay more taxes and invest in the economy.

The day before, Zyuganov also claimed there had been election fraud and that Communist Party observers had been removed.

There is also some good news from Germany.

The hard-core pro-Russian BSW, led by pro-Putin @SWagenknecht, failed to clear the 5% threshold in both Berlin and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern in yesterday’s state elections.

They will therefore not strengthen the AfD in either parliament.

AfD spokesman discussed Russian gas supplies with Gazprom chief

Markus Frohnmaier, parliamentary group spokesman for the Alternative for Germany (AfD) in the Bundestag, visited Moscow and discussed with Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller the possibility of resuming Russian gas supplies to Germany. Deutsche Welle reports this.

AfD deputy parliamentary group leader Beatrix von Storch confirmed the visit. According to her, the party is interested in resuming trade with Russia and securing cheaper energy supplies.

Earlier, Reuters reported that Vladimir Putin’s negotiator Kirill Dmitriev and AfD representatives were discussing the possible resumption of Russian gas supplies to Germany.

Romania detains former presidential candidate Călin Georgescu

The politician was detained by Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT). He was taken to his home, where searches are being carried out.

The case concerns alleged fraud, with the damage estimated at €1.1 million. The creation of an organized criminal group is also being investigated.

Georgescu, known for his pro-Russian views, took part in the 2024 presidential election and unexpectedly came first in the first round.

The election results were later annulled, and Georgescu was barred from participating in the repeat election. In May 2025, he announced his withdrawal from politics.

Russian propagandists are filming a documentary series in Europe

The military propaganda project “Rybar,” which is directly linked to the GRU, is filming a documentary series about the political and economic situation in Europe. Czech outlet Seznam Zprávy reports this.

Journalists found out that the project is being produced by Moscow resident Boris Dvorkin. He contacted Czech disinformation expert Bohumil Kartous and offered him an interview for the series.

According to the outlet, Dvorkin’s projects are supported by the “History of the Fatherland” foundation, headed by SVR chief Sergei Naryshkin.

Correspondent Vitaly Chashchukhin and cameraman Igor Dolmatov came from Berlin to meet with Kartous. Chashchukhin previously worked for Russian propaganda outlets, including Izvestia, Channel Five, and REN TV.

During the conversation, Chashchukhin confirmed that the filming was being done for “Rybar.” The moment was captured by a hidden camera. When Seznam Zprávy journalists approached the film crew, Chashchukhin and Dolmatov refused to answer questions and fled.

“Rybar” and its head, Mikhail Zvinchuk, are under sanctions. According to Seznam Zprávy, violating those sanctions in the Czech Republic can carry a prison sentence of up to eight years.
