Australia’s early-stage investment has been sliding since 2024 and @AlboMP & @JEChalmers ‘s insane CGT changes will supercharge the decline and exodus.
Founders are already building internationally from day one. Why would they stay and face this punitive tax on the very capital they need to scale here?
This isn’t “reform” it’s economic self-harm. Weak growth since the early 90s recession, as Michael Read @FinancialReview highlights, demands the opposite: reward risk-taking, entrepreneurship and mobile capital.
Wake up @ausgov time to reverse this before we lose another generation of Australian success stories.

So to 9 million Australians who own shares directly, and the over 50% of 25-34 year olds that own shares or crypto; your new CGT tax rate is > 50%, the highest in the world, over 140% above the international average, and no amount of dishonest piss & spin from Jim changes that.

Yesterday Treasurer @JEChalmers chose to target critics of his destructive CGT changes, on Australian businesses, from Coward’s Castle instead of defending the policy. He claimed parties vote the way “Gina Rinehart and Geoff Wilson” tell them to.
This is deflection, not debate. I will benefit commercially from his insane new CGT and am still opposing it because it will bring significant harm to Australian businesses, entrepreneurs, workers and productivity.
I challenge @JEChalmers to a public debate outside Parliament.

Personal attacks don’t create jobs. Good policy does.
