@jonastrox @JustinCKasper From my understanding this is small angle x-ray scattering (SAXS) from interstellar dust particles. If x-ray wavelength and scattering angle is known, then the particle size can be calculated.
A large interlaboratory study comparing five measurement techniques has recently been published. #SAXS ranks highest of the traceable techniques in terms of measurement repeatability and reproducibility.

The ground floor of the Physical Sciences Building has a new toy! The @XenocsNews BioXolver will allow us do SAXS all. the. time. The Ando lab now has a synchrotron in the backyard and an X-ray source at home! Check it out:

@drheaddamage @BAMResearch@DECTRIS_News The MOUSE seems to be eating through samples with ever greater appetite! Not the only #Xeuss cranking out #SAXS data!
After this challenging past year, we like to wish all our customers, suppliers and collaborators a restful holiday season and a happy, successful and most of all healthy 2021!
I'm very proud of my colleagues at @XenocsNews who made this software. If you're into analysis of x-ray scattering data you should really have a look! https://t.co/z6tOjdJVEE
Foams are a common part of daily life: from the soap bubbles in the shower to the soft material in your office chair. In the article below you can read about the use of Small-Angle X-ray Scattering for the characterization of solid foams.
