@MCinHD@buhashee Yeah that makes sense! Honestly medical billing here is so strictly regulated that you might not be able to do anything yourself. Wouldn’t hurt to ask her directly (if you haven’t already), but could be the answer is just “sorry but that’s as much as I can legally charge”
@MCinHD I'm not a lawyer or a doctor, but any additional compensation could pose ethical problems (since it could be construed as a gift, etc), so your doctor would likely need to refuse anyway. Maybe a nice thank you card instead?
@CeliaBedelia When I moved to Berlin, I would get self conscious when people said sorry to me cause I thought they knew I was a native English speaker. Like “I haven’t said anything yet, how do they know??”
@iamkosmonaut The fact that this isn’t made clear to consumers (e.g. via better labeling or PSAs or whatever) makes me think the whole thing is basically a failure, tbh
Anyone else have the, umm, “educational” experience of freaking out when you urgently need to print something from your email and you can’t find the @ symbol so you can log in to your Gmail on the 20 year old computer in some random Späti somewhere? Oh, just me?
@potatoslav@HonourableHusba I’ve bought a couple US layout keyboards direct from Apple Germany! Not sure if they have the one you’re looking for, but looks like most of the iPad keyboards on their site let you select the “Englisch (USA)” layout
@potatoslav@HonourableHusba Speaking as someone who refuses to retrain their muscle memory for German or “international” keyboards (🙃), Apple’s been a lifesaver

@balaji_ayyappan@aboutberlin Though still not ideal for folks who can’t afford to just loan out €255 to the LEA and hope that they’ll get it back some day 😬
@balaji_ayyappan@aboutberlin I’ve heard this too. Anecdotally at least, sounds like you can include your proof of payment from your first application and they’ll refund you (I saw one person that got their refund only a few days after they reapplied)
