I was sent these this morning asking for an ID
My first thought, with that rusty orange colour would be a Swallow?
The little feathers with black spotting is confusing me, but can’t think of another bird with the dark blue wings? @RSPBbirders
Can you ID this please? @ARC_Bytes@froglifers@WTWales it was seen last minute in our ditch yesterday, and couldn’t get my camera out before it slipped into the pond overflow, so not much to go on. It didn’t have usual grass-snake markings and maybe to green to be an eel?
@ARC_Bytes@froglifers@WTWales are you able to help ID this please? Came across it while doing some ditch maintenance making its way to our pond outlet. I don’t believe it was a grass snake, and wrong colour for an eel? Only just got my phone out in time so not much to go on!
I pass here regularly on the train to and from @StPancrasInt so thought I would actually take time out between connecting trains and have a look around! A vibrant small community wildlife spot and a great #FlatWhite! @wildlondon
While in #Margate I thought I’d come and check out the #Fulmar nests on the cliffs, they were pairing up when I was here in January, alas too late they have gone. :)
The old sewage outfall pipes at #ForenessPoint they used to be great for pungering when I was a youngster in the mid ‘70s. I wonder if there are still some there? Not that I want to try, but I still have my punger hook in the shed!
Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity @RoaldDahlFund provides 200 Specialist Nurses caring for over 40,000 seriously ill children across the UK . On Saturday my niece Georgia is doing a 10 Km run to raise some money https://t.co/PAQAyO8PLF
This female #MuteSwan hardly ever comes off her eggs. She’s having some ‘me time’ for a change.
Fingers crossed for a few cygnets this year.
You can stay in our accommodation and watch from the windows 😀

The windfall apples proving a hit in this cold weather. This morning, Song Thrush, Fieldfare, Blackbird, Robin, BlueTit, Dunnock, Chaffinch, Magpie, Redwing and even a Wren. The Fieldfare must expend more energy than it takes in fighting off the Blackbirds! @RSPBbirders
10 of our House Martin nests ransacked in 7 days by a Great Spotted Woodpecker.
5 this morning and 5 last week, the House martins are resilient though and are rebuilding them. Fingers crossed for next round 🤞 @BBCSpringwatch@Natures_Voice@RSPBbirders@visit_mon
