On Matchday 33 of the 2025–26 Premier League season, Arsenal played against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
The game ended 2–1 in favour of City. At full-time, Manchester City players were doing victory laps while rival fans flooded social media with posts about Arsenal bottling the league.
But in the middle of all the gloom, one man lifted his head, looked at his captain Martin Ødegaard and said:
“It’s not done.”
That man was Declan Rice.
Arsenal went on to win every remaining league game, storming to the Premier League title and finishing 7 points clear of Manchester City.
But why do I look back on Matchday 33 with such nostalgia?
Because ladies and gentlemen, it’s been exactly 33 days since Arsenal won the league title.
I can’t describe my feelings right now… Football always gives back to those who keep believing.. To the fans who kept believing, you deserve this… Arsenal; the club that will stay in my heart forever, you deserve this… The players and everyone at the club who made it happen, you deserve this… Congratulations to the best club in the world ❤️ @Arsenal
Some Arsenal fans are just too weak to be called fans, too emotional .. cheer your team in good and bad, not every game is going to be rosy .. some games will go our way some will not, but keep the hope alive … it’s the least you can do .. the actual work is done by the players and your support is a booster, we gained a point in yesterday game cos we played terribly, but better days are coming and you don’t want to be that guy who left stupid comments everytime we had a bad game.
I’ve been an Arsenal supporter since 1998, and there is nothing, absolutely nothing that can make me comment negatively about my team. I love @Arsenal .. in good and in bad times. #COYG
