There was a lot of this went on in the greater Glasgow hospitals. I remember being told by a Charge nurse in my late teens when I was training that no Catholic could be promoted beyond a certain point in one particular main hospital because the land and money had been put up by the Masons. I don’t know if it’s true but at this stage… I have my own thoughts on it. I trained when they had the orange walk annually, that was something to behold! 👀. Do they still do that?
