Amazing local initiative from the music department at Mayfield Secondary School in Caledon/Brampton, a GTA arts leader. It's a huge amount of admin work to organize something like this, and it went off without a hitch. Bravissimo!!
Clearing out my phone, more fun memories from last season: Final Fantasy VII at Meridian Hall, a packed house, and the amazing archived posters from past productions in the backstage hallways!
Super fun upcoming Opera York production in Richmond Hill! Tickets: https://t.co/ZAZDvpj2HB and navigate to Guest Performances. Tickets are affordable too!
For anyone in the Hamilton area, I'll be a featured artist with the Musicata chamber choir, Sunday May 3rd at 3pm. Please see their website for tickets: https://t.co/I93dmUVkji Lots of appealing tunes with a great choir!
For anyone in the Aurora Ontario area, there's an amazing new multi-media show called Sabzeh running until mid October at the Aurora Art Gallery, 50 Victoria Street. Featuring the music of composer Parisa Sabet, there's a lot to see and enjoy!
Under a week to go, and a travel alert for anyone coming by TTC: apparently the subway will not be running from Woodbine to Chester. If travelling east, you can get off at Broadview, it's a short walk to the church. Shuttle busses will also be running. Hope to see you there!
Hello friends,
Hope this finds you all doing well as we head into spring! I wanted to let everyone know about an upcoming concert I'm doing with the Counterpoint Orchestra in downtown Toronto https://t.co/lvJDXObBzh
Please come if you can!
A couple of very interesting doubling gigs with orchestra in the past month: one on Bb and A bass clarinets, with an extension tube in the Bb bell to create a passable low B! And Eb clarinet with basset horn for the amazing Queen Symphony, based on the music of Queen. Fun!
Asta Hyvarinen: Karu for alto saxophone and piano (comp.2002) https://t.co/MdhKhKyrc6 via @YouTube
Hey everyone, Happy Holidays! I finally got around to rescuing from analogue oblivion a live recording of an insanely-hard and great piece for saxophone and piano...
Looking forward to playing the Mozart again, with the Zemlinsky Quartet from Prague. Sunday October 22, 5pm at St. Wenceslaus Church in Toronto (496 Gladstone Avenue, one block east off Dufferin south of Bloor Street. Parking is available on the premises).
Thanks so much to the composers of ICOT (Iranian Composers of Toronto) for an amazing week-long recording session with the New Orford String Quartet and others. Album "Recurrence" due out in October!
