Agreed.
Last week, I went to my local bodega for a Philly cheese steak sandwich. To my shock, Pablo, my absolute boy and sandwich maker extraordinaire, told me:
"No hay más Philly cheese steak, Señor Jack."
When I asked why, he started crying, and whispered, "big sandwich," pointing at the TV.
Sure enough, Roark Capital executives were on CNBC, gloating about how they would put every bodega in New York out of business by monopolizing the sandwich market.
Small business owners would no longer be able to compete, as hungry consumers would certainly flock from miles to Subway and Jimmy Johns for their higher quality food, kinder employees, and better restaurant ambience.
I imagine that prioritizing FTC resources must be tough.
Sure, Microsoft is choking the emerging AI industry with its land-grab OpenAI investment. And, yes, Apple holds Google at gunpoint, charging insane fees to include Chrome on iPhones. And, okay, fine, Amazon might actually be jeopardizing thousands of small businesses with their anti-competitive pricing practices.
But I applaud Elizabeth Warren for taking a stand against big sandwich. Being a senator is a thankless job, but I stand with you, Lizzy.
🚨HOW TO INVEST IN THE CLIMATE CRISIS: REAL ESTATE EDITION🚨
Lately, folks have been asking me, "Jack, how are you coping with humanity's inevitable climate change-induced demise?"
For years, I told them, "Invest in climate tech startups!" However, after realizing that most of climate tech was actually a grift, I decided to go back to the basics:
Real Estate.
By my estimates, in ~60 years, Miami, Manhattan, and Los Angeles will be underwater, and most of the US, south of the Mason-Dixon line, will be virtually uninhabitable due to rising temperatures.
However, these rising temperatures and sea levels represent an opportunity:
Converting the Alaska coastline into a beach resort.
I have purchased 500 acres of land in Anchorage, AK for pennies on the dollar in anticipation of this area becoming a beach resort by 2070.
Sure, right now, the average high temperature in July is 61 degrees. But turn that 6 upside down in a few decades, and 91 degrees on a summer day will be ideal for drinking margaritas on the beach (though, at this point, Mexican restaurants will be a relic of generations gone by, as Mexico will either be underwater or as barren as the surface of Venus).
Alaska is also a short flight from Siberia (another excellent investment opportunity in the wake of climate change), so this move is a no-brainer.
Join me and Sarah Palin on the beach resort of the future.
A former President is being indicted - for the 2d time - & there's non-stop coverage.
Some good analysis, some not so good.
Many keep bringing up how "those in the military are likely the most upset about Trump absconding with intel secrets."
Yes, but there's more. 1/
A windstorm in Illinois kicked up dangerous clouds of blinding dust off farm fields, causing numerous crashes that killed at least six people on Interstate 55, police said. The crashes involved 40 to 60 cars and multiple tractor-trailers, police said. https://t.co/9sr0GhWn7q
It's worth noting that if crypto disappeared, the US quite literally wouldn't be impacted at all.
Not sure that anything has ever made as much noise while providing as little value as this industry.
