Quad 5G. 11 WAN connections. Starlink ready. SpeedFusion bonded.
The Peplink MBX is one of the most capable routers on the market — and yes, those little green antennas are doing a lot of heavy lifting.
We'll be at NAB Show in Las Vegas next week — stop by and see this thing running in real time. DM us if you want to link up!

Rolling through downtown Chicago in a manual, stop and go in every direction, skyline staring right back at you. Just came from Indianapolis demoing Starlink bonding with the BR2 Pro 5G backpack. Watching Starlink bond into a SpeedFusion tunnel and just work is still something special. We just announced SpeedFusion Boost this month and the possibilities are real. More soon. #Peplink #SpeedFusion #Starlink
Currently in San Jose, Costa Rica with a team of 20+ engineers conducting a full 5-day lab and proof of concept for Peplink SpeedFusion SD-WAN integrated with Palo Alto firewalls.
The goal is a hardened, repeatable global deployment template - one that covers WAN bonding, failover, tunnel architecture, and security policy from end to end.
This is the level of planning that enterprise-scale infrastructure demands before a single production device ships.
West Networks lives for this kind of work.

I travel with the Peplink 5G dongle mostly for my laptop but had a Balance 2500 EC I needed to demo 5G hit failover for a PoC. What's cool check out these little antennas! They work so awesome and are very small. Thanks Chris Friend for the antennas.
Peplink just dropped Firmware 8.5.4 RC1, and it's looking like a strong step forward from the beta.
The headline for me is the new ability to use an iPhone as a USB mobile modem – super handy for quick backups or failover in the field. Supported on a bunch of Balance, MAX (like BR1 ENT, BR2 Pro HW4, HD2/4 series, MBX Mini), B One, MediaFast, SDX/SDX Pro.
They tightened up security with an updated tunneling protocol for Remote Web Admin and InTouch, plus they cut the HA sync interval down to 2 minutes (from 5) – that's going to help with faster failover consistency.
On the fix side, there's a critical one: patched a remote code execution vuln in the API (Ref 35920) – definitely worth prioritizing if you're exposed. Also sorted out some Synergy mode headaches where devices wouldn't come back online in InControl after disconnects/reboots, plus a bunch of cellular stability improvements (no more repeated carrier selection loops, better eSIM handling, fixed module upgrades failing, etc.). Wi-Fi WAN roaming got some love too, and they fixed issues like captive portal not showing up or Web UI hanging on bandwidth changes.
Full supported models list is broad – pretty much all the current Balance, MAX HD/BR series, B One, MediaFast, UBR Plus, SDX/EPX/PDX, FusionHub, etc. Check the notes for your exact hardware.
As always with RC, run it in a lab or non-critical setup first to shake out any surprises. The release notes PDF is here: https://t.co/GAuD0ikb9i
Peplink forum thread is up too if you want to see what others are saying: https://t.co/zUJLnBHERf
Anyone jumping on this RC already? Noticed any wins (or gotchas) with the iPhone USB modem or the security patches? Would love to hear real-world feedback.

I set up a proof of concept for a facility looking to provide seamless failover to bonded starling using mpls technology. 6 starlinks, 2 5g's, and a peplink balance 2500 EC router to speedfusion them all together
I’m working on a new series called Peplink University Shorts. The goal is to create concise training videos—each under 10 minutes—focused on very specific topics.
Here’s what I have planned so far:
- Configuring Wi-Fi using IC2 and tags
- Setting up a Layer 3 SpeedFusion tunnel
- Setting up a Layer 2 SpeedFusion tunnel
- Setting up a NAT mode SpeedFusion tunnel
- Creating a guest VLAN and captive portal
- Configuring basic firewall settings
- Using the new WAN configuration feature
- Demonstrating zero-touch provisioning with a full factory reset
What other features or topics would you like to see demonstrated?
My son was going through some of my old things while we were digging out Christmas decorations and we found this really old Asus tablet PC, he asked me to see if it worked so we booted it up. it's really interesting to see the evolution of about 20 years of technolog. the Asus rog Ally x is a real game changer when it comes to handheld gaming and a worlds of difference from the old handheld PCS.
A custom Milwaukee SpeedFusion packout case equipped with Peplink dual 5G BR2 Pro 5G and an all day battery with high gain antennas for the best internet possible at the construction site for zero-day internet powered by T-Mobile 5G and Verizon 5G https://t.co/E2YeXG3L2E
Feild Operations had its first deployment using our North East team in CT. We upgraded 39 ambulances to the dual 5G Peplink SpeedFusion enabled BR2 Pro 5G, learn more at https://t.co/E2YeXG3L2E
We’ve just restocked 1,000 Peplink BR1 routers! The BR1 is a compact powerful solution that brings the full Peplink ecosystem. It includes features like integrated firewalls, SpeedFusion VPN, and zero-touch through InControl2. InTouch OOBM is included.
I had the pleasure of deploying a tertiary bonded internet connection for a healthcare facility, using #Peplink#SpeedFusion. Using an SDX router, we combined OneWeb, Starlink, T-Mobile, and FirstNet into a Layer 2 tunnel so they could use EIGRP between their routers.
Heading to Sacramento, CA for for a #Peplink#SpeedFuaion install to bond #Starlink#5G and #oneweb for complete building redundancy. Im spoiled by bonded #Tmobile and #verizon 5G in my Speed fusion Backpack while I travel. https://t.co/E2YeXG3L2E https://t.co/vJcyvwlz5T
So I keep asking people if I can drill holes in their fancy cars to install Starlink and they tell me no. I wanted to come up with an idea on how to install starlink with a Peplink br2 Pro 5G without penetrating or messing with the vehicle. I have a good trip today. down to lake county Florida then up to Pennsylvania for some installs and I thought why not try my new design. the suction cup mount custom print Starlink Mini with br2 Pro 5G.
I would say this is the ultimate family hotspot traveling around the country this summer.
