@rationalwalk Your views on rent vs mortgage ignore the strength of regulation in the local rental market. If you’ve experienced a market with zero rental protection (not just pricing I mean basic required standards in appropriate rental accommodation) you’d appreciate.

@rationalwalk Euro has higher denom bills also - the 100, 200 and 500 but in practice typically are found in countries like Germany but not in general circulation in Ireland or Spain. Particularly the 500 has been criticized for facilitating criminal movement of cash.

@rationalwalk The serving size of a beer in Spain and many continental European countries is not only much more pleasant (Fresh for example) than in Ireland or the UK it’s also easier to spend less (than reloading @ 500mls a go).
