and, then, she felt a bit of guilt touch her heart.
"Yes."
She replied anyway, unable to refrain a little smile at the remembrance of her meeting with Raoul.
He was. . . Apologizing?
Christine felt a strange tingle on her chest; it was like she didn't expected to hear so. She expected to be in the wrong there.
As she opened her lips to reply her angel of music had nothing to apologize for, he spoke once more -
+
"With all my heart."
The singer replied, her fingers playing nervously with each other.
When he disappeared, Christine even thought it was because of her. . . That, somehow, she had made him mad. The thought made her heart ache, pained.
+
"No, mister. . . Nothing"
A tired tone escaped her lips; she walked towards the only outside light they had there - a hole in a wall, which let some moonlight inside.
"I missed you. That's all."
His voice seemed quieter than usual, which made Christine raise a eyebrow while noticing so. She nodded, however, joining her hands together in front of her body.
"It's been a lot. . . Lately"
The girl replied, as if choosing the words.
"Because I haven't seen you for a long time."
The soprano explained in a quieter tone, looking at her own feet as if feeling guilty; like it was her own fault he didn't wanted to see her.
As she noticed his hand, Christine instantly held it on her own.
What she felt scared her. The Angel's hand felt so thin, so fragile. . . So cold.
"You should get under a blanket, Angel. You are freezing."
The singer worriedly asked, glancing at the mask.
"I didn't imagine you could get sick."
Christine's voice was increasingly worried. Grasping her hands together, she stepped ahead - on his direction.
"Hope you are feeling better now."
