@Jaythebard Depends on if you can tolerate older games without some emotional investment.
A lot of people did this order:
Remake > OG > Rebirth > Revelations
I always say play the original first for the full experience but if you want to be sucked in remake is a great place to start
@4the4th195075@AndSpaceY On FF16 I’d agree but if you can tell me how many “generic action games” use full party control, command based combat, ATB charge up, tactical positioning & strategic timing” like 7R - I’ll eat my words.
This idea that 7R’s combat is “just smash smash action” is nonsense
@AndSpaceY Luminous was so promising but in the age of visual diminishing returns, it’s for the best they just stick with an engine that can look great and know how to work inside and out.
Not to mention if they bring any additional outside staff on in the future they’ll know how to use it
@AndSpaceY Yeah. Which to an extent was kind of what they did in the golden era from FF4-9 it was essentially the same battle system and 1-6 then 7-9 all essentially used modified assets of each other and just tried new things. Tweaks in a new story rather than full overhauls.
@Shinracorpff7@Genki_JPN Speaking as someone who actually works in the industry both are very time consuming and Hoechlin is heavily in demand in at the moment and likely has pre committed obligations - weird that SE didn’t book him in earlier
Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the thrilling conclusion of the FFVII Remake Series, launches simultaneously on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games Store and Steam in Spring 2027.
@Execute44@RosemarieVerbr1@a2_mich@Gianl1974 That was literally your own response, though? I’m no fan of Starmer at all, but next to the wanker in the Oval he looks like the Second Coming.
@mortonbelmont0@Terranigma23@AvengerMags See that’s better take but I prefer it more like honestly the way 7R has done hard mode where certain things are only attainable on hard mode
@Mr_Fahrenheit78@TaylorsShelf So I own DQ, which was a radical departure, but I didn’t play it until years later… but 6 was never even released in the west and doesn’t play or respond at all like a BOF game.
@mortonbelmont0@Terranigma23@AvengerMags I asked if you do, didn’t say you don’t.
That’s the argument, you imply either you hate easy mode so much you’re willing to spite yourself or can’t control yourself? Simple question.
Because if yes, perfectly valid answer. Hence why I hate ff13s auto battle, the temptation.
@MichaelFKane Ps I actually agree with you btw but being pedantic here is the aim of the game and it’s actually kinda nerdy fun. A bit like the “less than 12 parsecs”
@MichaelFKane The hyperspace (generator) engine is broken, not the lightspeed engine. The two terms are stated as “lightspeed” and “hyperspace” but never said to be the same thing.
And as said before this explains a bit of why Luke’s training seems to take months vs their days.
@MichaelFKane Ah but at no point in-movie do they say neighbouring star systems have to be reached via “magic drive”.
Same film “if they went to hyperspace they could be on the other side of the galaxy”
ie “magic drive” travels massive distances quickly, but regular could still go slowly.
@mortonbelmont0@Terranigma23@AvengerMags I’m attacking the silly argument not the person.
Calling you a moron for intentionally denying yourself enjoyment of a great game because it has an easy mode, and I cannot be any clearer about this, do not have to use… that would be attacking the person.
See the difference?
@MichaelFKane Actually time dilation from relativistic speeds may be the answer. Using non hyperdeive engines that can reach or even go beyond light speed. Relativity kicks in. It’s just a few days or even hours for Han and Leia but could have been months or even years for Luke as it seems.
