Nearing the end of San FranSicko by @ShellenbergerMD. I've been reporting on the issue of homelessness for five years and Shellenberger has connected it all in a perfect book. A MUST read. Few books have blown me away like this. Accurate, comprehensive, thoughtful, pragmatic.
We’d have a lot less homelessness if we focused on ending it instead of outlawing it.
Banning homelessness near schools sounds great to many people, but it’ll just move tents to the sidewalks kids take to school.
That’s whack-a-mole, not progress.

Rosco has lived homeless on the streets of Toronto for six years. He says for most of that time he has been on a housing list. Sadly, there is just not enough housing for people. That needs to change if we are ever going to save lives and end homelessness. https://t.co/nW6AMUBKWM
