πΏπ¦ The court case is looking bad for the ANC so far:
The Independent Electoral Commissionβs (IEC) affidavit paints a bleak picture of the ANCβs candidate submission process.
The ANC withdrew its official list 1 hour and 16 minutes before the deadline.
It then attempted to submit a new, amended list, riddled with errors, just 2 minutes before the deadline.
The facts are making it increasingly clear that the ANCβs own negligence led to the rejection of nearly 200 of its candidates.

πΏπ¦ ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula is under increasing pressure after the party failed to register all its candidates before the IECβs 28 August deadline.
The ANC says a technical glitch prevented some candidates from being captured on the IECβs system.
The IEC, however, denies that its system experienced any technical problems.
Senior ANC leaders are now demanding answers over the missing candidates.

πΏπ¦ The Waterfront rainbow crossing in Cape Town was painted over in pink this weekend after Christian activists painted the name of Jesus over the gay-flag crossing.
DA councillor Ian McMahon said the city has since painted the crossing pink because the special coloured paint needed to restore the full rainbow design will reportedly only be available in about three months.
After it was painted pink, someone reportedly went back and painted a reference to Romans 1:24β27 over it. In this passage, sexual immorality and specifically homosexual acts are described as the result of a society rejecting Godβs authority.
According to the latest census data, Cape Town is 86% Christian.
According to Dr Adi Schlebusch, head of research at Petzer, this is yet another example in a long series of cases where the DA leadership continues to alienate its largely Christian voter base:
βThe DA would probably have more success among voters if the party positioned itself more like the moderate Christian Democrats in Europe, but unfortunately it is increasingly displaying the characteristics of a militant woke movement.β

πΏπ¦ After it was revealed that the DA in Cape Town has draft legislation that would, among other things, require citizens to obtain paid permits for their pets, DA councillor JP Smith launched a tirade on Facebook, fiercely denying the legislation.
Cape Town councillor Mzwakhe Nqavashe, chairperson of the Safety and Security Portfolio Committee β the same committee on which Smith serves β however, gave a completely contradictory explanation of the proposed pet registration.
He confirmed that residents with pets older than six months must register their animals, and that this is not optional or merely encouraged.
βIt is a requirement, as has already been pointed out several times, and pet owners must register their animals,β Nqavashe said.
βIt is already a requirement in the previous Animal Keeping By-Law of 2021, so it is nothing new.β
βYou register your pet online on the Cityβs website, the permit is generated, and although the by-law makes provision for a fee, no fee is being charged.β
Nqavashe emphasised that where provision is made for a fee, it can be legally introduced. So although it is free now, there could be a fee in the future.
