@Abi_Hutchinson ask for a send out test! They’re more accurate. Even if not COVID I’d ask for an outpatient chest x-ray just to make sure it’s not pneumonia if you’re still feeling that bad!

A couple weeks ago I had a COVID patient leave AMA (against medical advice) who was critically ill. Him, and his family, repeatedly told me that was not true and continued to tell me myths seen on Facebook/memes. I wheeled this man out with tears in my eyes (1/?)

Of COVID, then I was not going to change anyone else’s mind. So why would I put my energy/emotions into that? I will still advocate, but I’m done fighting. I may think your “opinion” is false (based on science) but I’m done.
And yes, the patient did pass away a few days later.

I learned a lesson that day. I have spent the last 1.5 years getting so upset at people choosing to disregard scientific evidence and believe inaccurate information. But who does that bother? Me.
I learned that if I could not change someone’s mind who was ACTIVELY dying (4/?)
