True story: last night I dreamed that what Jody Denberg Didn’t tell us about his retirement was…he has a whole DJ setup in his house! I was his guest, we talked about community, family, music. Fun dream. (And Jody, just saying, not a Bad idea)
@livingpins@JodyDenberg@KUTX Happy Birthday Jody! I’ll be listening with a few tears, a few sad but mostly tears of joy for the near 30 years of support, love and friendship. You retire as one of the great deejays in a town where that really means something. Thank you thank you thank you!
@JodyDenberg@Nakia I’ll miss your soothing voice on the airwaves, now I’ll have to find a therapist! Your impact on Austin, the Austin music community, and radio is immeasurable. I am proud and humbled to call you friend. Much love
@Kathy_Valentine@m_millsey Quick Roky story: we were driving around Austin and Cold Night for Alligators came on the radio, Roky turned and said,”that’s not how that was supposed to go” then sang his version. I almost wrecked the car. He was more amazing than most know. Happy bday Roky
@JodyDenberg Michael had a passion for music, writing about music, and for the Austin scene. He was the guy, nearly 30 years ago, that said in his column,”wouldn’t it be good if there was a musician that was Also a therapist. We could start some kind of services” We did, thank you Corky.
@JodyDenberg@BrianWilsonLive Jody, this week as an example, you are still the coolest guy I know! As well as the most sincere, honest and professional. Which is why your interviews are the best!
