I'm finally reading Dune. This quote, which is in the first few pages, hits hard:
"Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them."
Thomas Massie in his concession speech: "While gas is almost $5 a gallon and diesel is almost $6, they're talking about this big ballroom...It looks like the Roman Empire. I see a few analogies there..."
@hasanthehun people can’t even say this is an over exaggeration because it all happened in such plain sight
it’s exhausting how in the open all of this is unfolding
“Replaced with better teachers” Where? No one wants to become one because they get paid nothing and are treated like dog shit by students because parents take 0 responsibility in their children anymore
Who would ever go through the required education costs in 2026 to be paid less than it costs to pay your student debt every month…
The majority of teachers in America are working in public schools
Funded by the GOVERNMENT who sets the salaries KNOWING that pay does not meet the bare minimum cost of living in 2026
These are the people raising our youth, barely able to fill their tank of gas or afford groceries
A teacher in 2026 is not receiving the same compensation/benefits a teacher from the 90’s or even early 2010s are receiving in relation to the cost of living, inflation, and college education prices
Have some empathy for teachers trying their best just to survive, one of them was simply saving up for a VACCUM..
Do you not think teachers should be compensated better for what they do?
