@NateSilver538 I think you're probably an outlier because of your knowledge of stats. I know a lot of PhD's don't understand stats particularly well. So, maybe peer review needs to have a layer of stats reviews as well as discipline reviews.

@nkybeth I'm at a very small school, and I'm the only math faculty. I've described it as equivalent to half a colleague. I can bounce ideas off of it and ask it to do some menial tasks. I'm also autistic. I think it has potential use as an accommodation tool.

@SherrieJacoby @naomirwolf Professionally, I do refer to myself as Dr. If I'm not acting in a professional or semi-professional capacity, I don't use it. Considering that Dr. Wolf's profession entails a public face, being Dr. Wolf on twitter makes sense.

@ChristianityOn I have a half dozen different plaid patterned button downs. I'm well known for wearing them. We have a day to dress up as your favorite professor. One of my students gets the look down well enough that everyone knows who he's dressing as.

@findingTangle I think there is a lot of blame to go around. But, the moment that stands out to me is Senate R's refusal to convict him on his way out in Jan 2021. That was one of the primary checks our system has on Presidents.

@findingTangle As a math professor, please stop focusing on the material needed for calculus. There's much more interesting and relevant math. Like probabilities and then other adjacent things like economics.

@danidonovan I feel this so hard. I knew I was smart enough to get by without studying. But, partly I didn't study because I didn't want to find out that I couldn't get the top grade even if I did study. But it felt like not living up to my potential.

@jbarro Yeah, but one way to help get your brain around it is that all models are only trustworthy in or near the data window they were built on and to see any measurable difference in time or space due to relativity you have to be moving speeds well out of that window.

@cafreiman It does matter that private k-12 is an alternative to gov-funded public school. College loan forgiveness applies to a system with no free option. I might rather something along the lines of free tuition to a community college or vocational school instead of loan forgiveness.

@ChristianityOn One of the reasons I was late diagnosed was because I appeared to be good with time. But, I over compensated like this description and I would end up places sometimes 30 min early because I was terrified to be late.

@danidonovan I can't imagine how I would've managed before push notifications and pharmacy apps. I get a text reminder to refill and daily push notifications when ready until I pick it up.

@ChristianityOn My older son went through an intense burnout right as we were coming to realize he's autistic as well as myself. I listen to the autistic culture podcast. They do this. I listen to podcasts in the car, and I made a point to listen to that one often when he rode with me.

@ChristianityOn I'm working on this. But rethinking how I teach has a lot of EF challenges. So, I'm slowly changing what I've seen done my entire time as a student and a professor and trying to get closer to universal design.
