The WNBA is a league that preaches inclusion while practicing exclusion, demands respect while tolerating bullying, celebrates fairness while applying rules and punishment selectively, and asks fans to trust a system fueled by racist hate that is increasingly defined by narratives, agendas, double standards and collapsing credibility.

The instructions Adam Silver gives to the incoming WNBA commissioner will determine how history judges him. He can enforce immediate, brutal accountability, or he can let double standards finish off the league's credibility. If he chooses the safe, corporate route, his brilliant NBA legacy will be forever overshadowed by a legacy of cowardice in the WNBA.
