NEW: Florida mom fumes and accuses her son's school of being 'racist' after his teacher sang him the "funny birthday song."

The elementary school has since launched an investigation after Desarae Prather said her son's teacher was being "racist" to him.

The lyrics in question are from a version of the Happy Birthday song that says, "you look like a monkey."

Prather is demanding an apology and says she took her son out of the school. She will be sending him to a different school.

This song was sung at every birthday party I went to growing up.

@united Hey United, I just left after 3.5 hours on your help chat with no resolution. I tried to book a flight online for my wife to Bangkok using some of her miles. When it came to the payment screen, I was told (one the page) that something went wrong and to come back later. After the second try failed the same way, I tried the chat at about 12:30 PM CDT. For the next 3.5 hours United reps, who were unfailingly polite, tried various ways to book this flight. The chat seemed to time out now and then (or maybe I was just getting dumped off?) and I was placed back into the queue, again eventually meeting another United rep who also failed. One rep told me after I asked there was a problem using miles for a code share. If true, there should be a flag that they (and maybe I) could see.

NEW: CNN panel is appalled that people think Decarlos Brown Jr. should have been locked away for life, which would have prevented him from slaying Iryna Zarutska.

Abby Phillips: "He did actually serve time... He should have been locked away for life?"

Keith Boykin: "You don't lock people up for schizophrenia."

Kat Abughazaleh: "I use public transit constantly... people shouldn't be locked away for mental illness..."

They're purposely being obtuse and latching onto her "schizophrenia" comment (and ignoring the fact he was arrested 14 times) because they have no argument.

They want to protect the violent criminals and not the innocent law-abiding people.

@CathyYoung63 I am agnostic about what they're doing in Florida but isn't the difference here that what school kids are made or encouraged to read is not an issue of speech at all? It's an issue of education. Removing books from a school library is fundamentally different to a public library.
