Canada must take leadership by immediately imposing economic and travel sanctions against Netanyahu and all members of his war cabinet.

Starting this weekend, I am going to be working with civil society NGOs, Arab, Muslim and ally leadership across the country to drive this critical result.

Netanyahu and his war cabinet have become global pariahs and they need to be legally treated as such.

On Monday, the international community, through the UN Security Council, called for an immediate ceasefire. It has been ignored.

Every major independent global NGO operating in the region has declared an emergency in Gaza. 32,000 plus killed, 2 million displaced- a child is killed every 10 minutes. Famine and disease are rampant.

Yesterday, the International Court of Justice ruled for the third time against Netanyahu and his war cabinet, including that Israel has not followed any of the ICJs earlier rulings.

Despite all this, hostages are not being rescued. Negotiations have been the prevalent tool that has alleviated the pain of hostage families.

When an international actor behaves in this manner, they disentitle themselves from the privileges of the international community.
