@MetroNorth This isn't "convenient" to everyone. On the northbound platform in Tarrytown the warming boxes are at the back of the platform a distance away from where the last car is now stopping. In this freezing weather people need to wait in those boxes and shouldn't have to run.

Now I'm an engineer who's admittedly never taken Marketing 101 but I'm going to go on a limb and guess that part of what's taught is the strategy of understanding your customer and what they want so you can create profitable products accordingly.
