The fight for our democracy is at Memphis' doorstep.

Just hours after the Supreme Court opened the door to partisan gerrymandering, my opponent Marsha Blackburn became the first Republican in the nation to call for the legislature to reconvene. Her goal is clear: force a special session as early as next week to strip Memphis of its democratic representation in Congress.

This isn't just "redistricting"��it is a coordinated power grab. By attempting to carve up a majority-Black city and dilute our voice, the supermajority is trying to choose their own voters rather than earning them. They think that by slicing up our neighborhoods, they can silence Memphis in Washington.

But our voices are not for sale, and our city is not a pawn. We have to show Governor Lee and the legislature that their attempt to rig the game will not go unchallenged.
