She also emphasized on branding strategies for the metaverse and how it is going to change the way marketing and advertising content is being created and distributed.
The Department of Communication organized a workshop on the role of artificial intelligence in advertising for the students of MA Communication on 27th Jan 2023. The resource person for the session was Dr Bassant Eyada, the Dean of College for Media, City University, Ajman, UAE.
The session taught students the basics of photography and different advanced techniques of photography that can be achieved with a very clear knowledge of the basics like, motion blur, freeze frame, shallow focus and deep focus, etc. The students found the workshop very fruitful.
The resource person was Mr. Ankit Kumar, an alumni, Search Engine Optimization Executive at DigiCollect and an event photographer at Lavnte Photography.

The resource person for the session was Shri Gurubabu Balaraman, Director (news), Doordarshan, Chennai.
The discussion focused on the topic "Women, Media, and Culture," where the esteemed panellists shared their thoughts, views, observations, and revelations on the same with reference to the contemporary scenario.

The Department of Communication at Madras Christian College, in collaboration with the Department of Communication and Media Studies at MOP Vaishnav College for Women, organised "Uplifters," an insightful panel discussion, on January 6, 2023, at the CMS Theatre.
Dr. Deborah Thiyagaraj, Ms. Sowmiya Ashok, Ms. Shilpa Agarwal, and Ms. Indu Gopal constituted the strong and inspiring panel. The conversation was moderated by Dr. Vasupradha Srikrishna from the dept of communication, MCC.
As a part of "My Lounge Campaign" initiated by the Non-resident Women Students' Forum, the women of the Department of Communication organized several activities in the Macnicol's Lounge on the 15th and 16th of December.
As a token of gratitude, thank-you notes and chocolates were gifted to the maintenance staff of the lounge.
