@tobi Something interesting is the Conservatives closed high security prisons when they were lasy in power, reducing total jail capacity over two terms.
@bslobodin Another example where the courts upheld provincial jurisdiction: https://t.co/ZhNgYkhdgy
“The nine-justice panel said provinces have the right to restrict the importation of goods from another province, as long as the primary aim of the restriction is not to impede trade.”
@bslobodin That’s not how our country federation is setup and division of powers. Internal trade is a provincial responsibility. Ex: https://t.co/HNGwl24Ogt
There’s been multiple businesses fined by a provincial court for importing interprovincial goods.
@Matt_Warren@tobi@Shopify The team attempted to replicate and we could not find a way to only see the parent product with no variants. Would you mind reaching out in a DM? We're thinking something on the browser might be altering the search results, from the viewport to scripts/ad blockers.
@Matt_Warren@tobi@Shopify Hi Matt. The product should be expanding with variants underneath. Something unexpected is happening and the team is looking into it.
Shopify: The Boring Edition.
We focused on the hard and unsexy work of nailing the basics, getting all the parts of Shopify to work seamlessly together, and run at tip top performance. You've got to sweat the details.
Some of my favorite updates 🧵
@karlclement Serverless is too expensive and difficult to properly scale vs a stable less elastic capacity. Docker containers running application code with ActiveJob/Sidekiq.
@t3dotgg To be fair, back when they published it RN was bad. Text input wouldn’t scroll the viewport, and many basic features were missing. Bad dev environment, large differences in dev runtime vs device, etc.
@jdileonardo_ @lesleebark @CamGuthrie Check Canmore, we have those 4-plexes with 4 driveways. There's no grass here (won't grow) so the yards are the parkings.
@ngrilly@mitsuhiko We recently moved to Workplace, the software has so many UX issues and people are missing important announcements/discussions. Overall a 3/10 experience. It works okay at surfacing occasionally interesting content, but people have figured out how to game it already.
@christaggart@harrison_ott Big grocery stores are sad. They end up lowering quality (ex: bakeries are objectively bad compared to real ones) while reducing choices. I'd rather see a set of smaller shops (ex: a butcher, a bakery, a fish market, a cheese shop) that offer different products.
