@markismith50 It’s fantastic. We moved to Sydney 18 months ago and one of my Aussie colleagues brought up the Austria camp yesterday after seeing the coverage. It’s getting noticed down here too! We can’t wait to be back up for the first 2 games of the season!
@BAShelley@RugbyInsideLine No change with relegation. Same process that has been in place for a couple of years now. Bottom club in a playoff v top of Championship if they pass the audit.
@Chris22Hen@markismith50@mattburke710 Sebastian’s introduction to the Waratahs was learning all about one of the greatest Falcons! Sadly not been any easier watching the Tahs since our move…
@RosbifsRugby The best town to watch a game! Imagine if Bayonne get a home barrage… Plenty of great restaurants there too, many owned by ex rugby players.
@RosbifsRugby Very jealous of your weekend! We have been regular visitors to the Aguilera and Jean Dauger over the years. Great places to watch rugby and been fortunate to see a couple of derbies. Aguilera needs a bit of work though…
@markismith50 On nights like tonight, the enormous potential is there for all to see. Just needs a little more to be added to the mix. And the pain we’ve experienced on the journey will make the rise all the sweeter. Thank you to all at the club for the continued hard work.
@FalconsRugby@SaintsRugby Well worth the early start in Sydney! Lots of fight, heart and some lovely rugby from the lads especially in the second half. And how about the hands from big Murray!
@Hathers46allout@18stephenm @CRichardsonTel Why is football the measuring stick? Comparing the two is comparing apples and pears. Interest levels and the finances involved are incomparable. Rugby needs to work out what works for rugby rather than doing something just because football does it.
@18stephenm @CRichardsonTel Why does relegation have to return? It risks financial ruin for any club that suffered it in the current climate. The financial gap between the prem and the champ is enormous. No relegation means a promoted club can invest without the risk of immediate return to the Champ.
@18stephenm@spkeene @CRichardsonTel The main issue with the growth of the game is relegation. Irish, Worcester and Wasps all spent beyond their means to, in part, try and avoid relegation. Fair to guess that new investors (who are needed given the enormous losses) are put off by the risk of relegation.
@StanSportRugby Including Toulouse who have just been to SA and beaten the Sharks in their own back yard? Come on.
The refs up north have been refusing to stop for minor injuries all season. Nothing new in SR.
Be positive, rugby doesn’t need to continually bicker internally!
@markismith50 Agreed, my point is more that I think there should be more discussion/debate about the structure and the on-going financial risks it seems to me that the “new” model (which feels very similar to the old broken pre-covid one) brings.
@MattHardyJourno@markismith50 Isn’t the real story here then worries about the structure of the game? Clubs spending far in excess of income, reliant on owners writing off huge annual debts and the determination to financially cripple one club each season through relegation?
